Free Intro to Intro to Men’s Sexual Shadow Transformation Evening:
Bringing our Sexuality out of Shadow
March 25thSept. 5th
As human beings, sexuality is fundamental to who we are. It is intimately tied to our sense of self and our place in the world. But cultural expectations are nowhere close to matching the internal reality of most men.
Our culture tends to frame men’s sexuality in a very negative light. For centuries, our culture has simultaneously controlled, entitled, shamed, misrepresented, obligated and condemned men as sexual beings. We have been painted as dangerous, creepy, wanton, selfish, inadequate, unavailable, and perverse. This disconnect between cultural expectations and personal feelings has left many men living with a deep sense of shame and rejection that we are expected to hide behind macho bravado or spiritual mastery.
The many taboos around this subject have pushed men’s sexuality into the shadows leaving many men starving for a place where they can talk freely about the painful and joyful ways their sexuality and has shown up in their lives.
This Intro to Men’s Sexual Shadow Transformation will be a rare opportunity for men to gather to have a frank and honest look at men’s sexuality on personal, interpersonal and cultural levels.
Over the course of the evening we will:
- Co-create a set of agreements that will help create a strong, safe, non-shaming environment for us to share
- Share who we are and the joyful and painful ways that sexuality has show up in our lives
- Explain what Eros Work is and how it works
- Support each other in an series of experiential exercise designed to acknowledge fears, lift shame and inspire compassion for ourselves and others
- Learn more about the Men’s Sexual Shadow Transformation Weekend in Asheville on April 5-7.
Please consider joining us for this unique opportunity.
All men are welcome.
